Educational activity “Exploring my family tree”

We invite you to a lecture and workshop exploring what genetic and anthropological research can reveal about our origins and family relationships. We will look at how science can help us discover our roots, while the practical part of the session will focus on how to create a family tree and organise your family history. Along the way, we will discover that genealogy is about much more than names and dates.

The session will be led by representatives of the Centre for Human Bioarchaeology and Palaeogenetics at the Faculty of Medicine, Vilnius University – geneticist Assoc. Prof. Dr Ingrida Domarkienė and anthropologists Dr Justina Kozakaitė and Rūta Brindzaitė, whose research includes the remains of members of some of Lithuania’s most prominent noble families, as well as individuals from different historical periods.

The lecture is open to anyone interested in exploring their origins and family history.

Please note that the activity will be conducted in Lithuanian.
